Lamborghini is getting everyone excited by showing a sneak peek of their very first electric car. We’ll get to see this new car at the Monterey Car Week on August 18th.
Lamborghini’s First Electric Car Teased

Lamborghini posted a hint on their social media, making fans eager to see their first electric car.
They didn’t say which exact model it is, but the fancy sports car company from Sant’Agata Bolognese told us that they’re revealing their first-ever 100% electric car at Monterey Car Week, which started last Friday.

Until now, Lamborghini wasn’t so sure about making an electric car because they were worried it wouldn’t perform as well. But other carmakers have already made really fast electric cars, like the Rimac Nevera, which can go from 0 to 100 km/h (that’s around 0-62 mph) in just 1.74 seconds. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster takes 2.8 seconds to do the same.
Even though they weren’t sure about electric cars, Lamborghini sold all their gas-powered cars in July. The boss of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, said in an interview last year that their first electric car will be good for everyday use. He said:
“We’re thinking about a car with two doors and two seats in the back, something you can drive every day.”
Even though they had doubts about electric cars, Winkelmann told another magazine, “An electric car can be even more fun than a car with a regular engine.”

The person in charge of designing Lamborghini cars, Mitja Borkert, says the new electric car will keep a lot of the special Lamborghini style. It won’t look the same as the other Lamborghini cars like the Aventador, Huracan, and Urus, which will also get electric versions. The first electric Lamborghini will be built on a new kind of chassis called “SSP Sport,” which is being made by Porsche.
Lamborghini wants to start selling the electric car in 2028. That’s a good match with the 60th birthday of another special Lamborghini car, the Espada, which has four seats and is great for long trips.
