Mumbai: BPCL(Bharat Petroleum) to set up 100 fast EV charging stations on national highways.

On Wednesday, Mumbai, Bharat petroleum Indias oil company announced to invest Rs.200 crore this fiscal to set up a 100fast EV corridor having 2,000 electric charging stations along the busiest 100 national highways, said BPCL executive director B.R. Ravi.

Bharat petroleum opened its first EV charging along the Chennai-Trichi-Madurai highway with one charging unit.
Bharat petroleum also has a plan to establish its second EV station on the Kochi-Salem section on national highway 47 in the next two months.
BPCL, the director also said that its third EV corridor will be in Mumbai-Bengaluru highway 4 and will be expanded units as highway traffic increases.
Mr. Ravi informed, said, Given this cost variance, we have budgeted for around ₹ 200 crore investment this fiscal as we plan to set up as many as 2,000 fast-charging stations across 100 corridors by March 2023.”
BPCl announced its long-term, company plan to have 7,000 fast EV charging stations by 2024-25.
