BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle company, has successfully entered the Southeast Asian electric vehicle market by partnering with local companies. In Malaysia and Singapore, BYD sells its vehicles through Sime Darby Motors, with seven dealerships in Singapore. In Thailand, BYD works with Rever Automotive for distribution and after-sales support, investing over $83 million to become a top player. In the Philippines, AC Motors plans to open 12 dealerships, promoting electric vehicles with reduced tariffs.
