Ford splits its electric vehicle and internal combustion engine division into a separate business.
Ford motor co. announced on Wednesday, 2 March 2022 its electric vehicles and internal-combustion engine division will be run as separate units, and ford also planning to create a separate division – first for a conventional combined engine and another is for electric vehicle and software.
“We are going all in, creating separate but complementary businesses that give us start-up speed and unbridled innovation in Ford Model e together with Ford Blue’s industrial know-how, volume, and iconic brands like Bronco, that start-ups can only dream about,” said CEO Jim Farley, who will head the electric vehicle division.
Ford has already developed its electric vehicles like Ford GT, mustang mach-E SUV and F-50 lighting pickup, and its electric vehicle run in china.
Ford motor has a plan to develop more than 2million electric vehicles annually in 2026, representing about a third of its global volume.
