GAC Trumpchi has just unveiled more photos of their upcoming mid-sized MPV, the E8. 📸 This plug-in hybrid (PHEV) has received the green light from the government and is set to hit the market later this year.
These new interior photos showcase a sleek black and brown dual-color design with chrome accents and leather materials in various spots. 😍 The modern center console, narrow-band LCD instrument panel, and large floating center control screen are in line with current design trends. What’s interesting is that instead of the usual column shifter, they’ve gone for a new button shifter design. 🚘
For convenience, they’ve included double cup holders in the back and cup holders in the front, along with a wireless charging slot for your phone. 📱🥤
Moving to the exterior, the E8 features split headlights with a distinctive look that gives the front face a three-dimensional appearance. 🚗 The color-matched body grille design adds to the overall simplicity of the car. At the rear, you’ll find a clean and conventional tail light design with an illuminated logo. 🌟
Under the hood, the E8 boasts a PHEV system with either a 1.8L or 2.0L engine paired with a ternary lithium battery pack. The 1.8L engine delivers 98 kW of power, while the 2.0L engine offers 103 kW, both matched to a 2-speed DHT. The battery pack has a capacity of 25.57 kWh, although the exact pure electric range isn’t known yet. 🌿🔋
The E8 sits on a chassis measuring 4920/1900/1760 mm with a 2930 mm wheelbase. It’s positioned below the E9 in GAC’s Trumpchi lineup, which is priced between 329,800 and 389,800 yuan (approximately 45,200 to 53,400 USD). 🤑
