Lucid’s Peter Rawlinson is highest paid auto CEO in 2022 with $379 million compensation

Peter Rawlinson, the CEO of Lucid Motors, was the highest-paid CEO in 2022, making a whopping $379 million. Most of this money came from company stocks, with a base salary of $575,000. Even though this salary is relatively low for a CEO, his stock awards added up to a lot. He also made some money from stock options.
For comparison, Lucid Motors made around $608 million in revenue in 2022. When Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, heard about Rawlinson’s earnings, he simply said “wow” on social media, and many people reacted the same way.
Mary Barra, the CEO of General Motors, earned $34 million in 2022. This included a base salary of $2.1 million and a lot of money from stock awards, bonuses, and other incentives. It’s worth noting that her earnings dropped by 45% compared to the previous year when she made $62 million.
Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, received a total of $18.3 million in 2022. This included a base salary of $1.7 million and various other payments like stock awards and bonuses. Rivian’s CEO, RJ Scaringe, earned $1 million, and Henrik Fisker, the CEO of Fisker, received $783,255 in 2022.
On the other hand, Elon Musk had a record year in 2021 when he made a staggering $23.5 billion from stock options, making him the highest-paid CEO in the survey. However, in 2022, Musk didn’t use any stock options, and he doesn’t take a salary from Tesla. So, according to the survey’s method, he didn’t earn anything from Tesla in 2022.
