Tata Motors is getting ready to release an electric version of the Punch, which is aimed at competing with the Citroen eC3. This electric model, called the Punch EV, might hit the market around late October.
The Tta Punch EV will fit in between the Tiago EV and Nexon EV in Tata’s electric vehicle lineup. It’s meant to be an alternative to the Tigor EV. To power it, Tata will use their Ziptron technology. It could come with different battery options, offering a driving range of about 200-300 kilometers on a single charge.
From spy pictures, it seems the Punch EV will have a look similar to the regular, non-electric Punch. It will keep the tough design with square-shaped wheel arches and rear door handles placed on the C-pillar. It’s also expected to have a closed-off front grille and new alloy wheels.
Inside, the Punch EV is likely to see some updates, including a two-spoke steering wheel, a digital dashboard, and a 7-inch touchscreen for infotainment.
