Tesla’s Cybertruck Production in Jeopardy Due to 4680 Battery Cell Delays, According to the InsideEVS news suggests.
In May starting Tesla battery cell provider Panasonic announced that it will delay the commercial production schedule of 4680 battery cells, many peoples are worried about the delay of Tesla Cybertruck production and also worried about the delay in the delivery of Cybertruck. As a Reuters report suggests, Pansonic had planned to start production of 4680 battery cells this year between April 2023 and March 2024 but now the company decided to start production of battery cells between April 2024 and September 2024, the company has delayed production by 1 year, if battery production start later, it might be chance Cybertruck delivery may affect.
The main reason for 4680 battery cell production due to Panasonic decided to enhance the 4680 cell performance or do another testing also goes for further rounds, Till Now Panasonic is working with Tesla in a joint venture for a year.
Tesla 4680 battery cell was announced 3 years later at the Battery Day event in 2020.
In Event automaker said this new gen 4680 battery cell battery comes at an affordable price than the already existing 2170 battery pack.
the company also claimed that this battery will have higher energy density & efficiency compared to the existing pack.

Tesla said that this battery pack is mainly used in Model Y and Tesla Cybertruck.

After the Battery Day event, both Gaint makers decided to set up a joint Pilot production line in its Tesla GigaFacorty in Sparks, Nevada, also Elon Musk isn’t commenting anything about How many cells have been built or produced.
