CTAL to build a 100GWH battery cell plant in Debrecen of east Hungary would invest €7.34 billion euros (~$7.4 billion USD), it is the second battery plant in Europe from CATL.
Hungary battery plant will cover around 221 hectares(~ 546.103 acres) in Southern Industrial park, Debrecen, which is 48 hectares more compared to its first plant.
CATL also announced that in the Hungary plant we will utilize “sustainable energy” for electricity, our vision is to build a “sustainable & circular battery value chain”.
