Hello friends, Jai Shree Ram! Now after Alto, Maruti’s second most affordable car — S-Presso — is also getting a big price cut under GST 2.0.
As you know, on 3rd September, our Prime Minister announced that the Union Government has updated the GST structure. Under GST 2.0, cars under 4 meters in length (including compact SUVs) will now attract only 18% GST, compared to the earlier 28% GST + 1% Cess (total 29%). This is a huge relief for car buyers. The new rates will be effective from 22nd September 2025 across India, so if you are planning to buy a new car, just wait for 2 more days to take full benefit.
Coming to the Maruti S-Presso, which is the second cheapest car after Alto K10 — earlier both Petrol and CNG variants were taxed at 29%. Now, under GST 2.0, that reduces to 18%.
👉 On the Petrol LXI variant, you will see the biggest price drop of ₹1,19,600, which means a 23.94% reduction.
👉 On the CNG LXI variant, the price drop is even higher at ₹1,29,600.
Overall, the S-Presso price cut ranges from ₹76,600 to ₹1,30,000 depending on the variant.
